Fairytales are usually the first teacher for everyone on the definition of pure evil. Their stories are printed in books, poems are written about them, and even Disney has their plethora of evil characters for every hero prince or princess. So far you’re human, you must have an idea of what evil ‘looks’ like.
There are so many ways evil can come that makes it difficult for the not-so-keen eyes to recognize at first glance.
Since not everyone is labeled as ‘good’ and ‘evil’, we often encounter evil people but an encounter with them is the only way to be absolutely sure.
Trying to deal with evil is not an advisable endeavor for anyone trying, evil people can turn your whole world upside down and leave you hanging in that position forever.
It’s easy for everyone to mention it to a person in an abusive relationship to quit, but the realities are most times different. You can leave a relationship when the warning signs are there, but evil people wouldn’t be evil if they can’t hide their true colors from the world.
Below are 12 signs you notice when dealing with evil people. If you spot them, run fast without looking back!
- Denying Reality
Even with glaring facts staring at them in the face, an evil or abusive person will always find a way to get around them and twist the realities into their warped idea of it.
For them, their reality isn’t something that’s up for debate. No matter what you do, you can never prove them wrong. Your hard facts can never make them succumb to the truth.
- Twisting Facts
This is quite similar to the first, they twist facts to make them seem better than yours. Facts that don’t prove their point are the wrong ones, they twist and turn them into something completely different. They make you listen to their concocted facts to back up their stories as the only truth.
3. Withholding Information
When these people come face to face with information that would benefit you or even change your views. They keep you around by keeping you utterly misinformed.
They never admit to lying, they keep all information secret while using their ignorance to manipulate you.
When they come across information necessary to your wellbeing, and you’re privileged enough to get the information, they use it to mislead you, because you trust them.
They’ll make you afraid, alone and vulnerable, so they’ll be your comfort and you become a dependent.
By doing this, they create enemies for you in all directions, you get the feeling that all you’ve ever done your whole life is the wrong thing.
- Constant Lying
They always lie to protect themselves, and to keep you in their control. They won’t serve you a story without adding some white lie on the side. And when you catch them lying? They agree, find other cover lies to explain their actions.
- Feel No Remorse
A common thing for them is hurting people without feeling remorseful or being apologetic for their actions.
In their sight, everyone is a pawn in their grand game, sucking energy off anything that comes into contact with them.
- Avoiding Responsibility
This is an extension of the last sign. They never take responsibility for harming the people they’ve wronged.
The moment they learn that you point blame in their direction, they redirect it anywhere except themselves.
Talk about the leaders in the school of manipulation. They are most times 50 steps ahead of everyone they plan to inflict their latest menace on. They understand ways to make you feel like an idiot and stupid.
- Fair-Weather Friends
The moment they see you’re in distress, it’s their arms they want you resting in. This isn’t because they felt so inclined to help, but because they want you to depend on them.
They might be there when things are great, but once it turns sour, trust me, you’ll never see them.
- Steal Your Time
You need to keep watch of the time you spend with them because they make you lose track of time and they distract you from the most important things. If you notice them, disrupt them, and end the conversation as quickly as you can.
- Double Lives
What more about evil people? They all lead double lives. Since their whole life is based on lies, they paint a different picture to everyone so far it suits their need for each person.
Immediately they start losing control, they create new lies to frantically cover up old ones.
12. Very Controlling
Due to all the lies, they need to disseminate to keep their ruse going, they always like to be in control. The moment they feel like someone is trying to become real friends with them, they turn possessive and controlling.
The basic thing to always remember when you’re in an abusive relationship with someone is to cut them off from your life, or talk to someone else you trust can help.
